Our Mission
Exceptional Honey. Packed with Purpose.
Savannah Bee curates the world’s finest honey to help protect bees and the essential role they play in sustaining life on Earth.
Enjoy Our Honey. Support Bees. PROTECT THE PLANET.
Together with our trusted parters, we support over 81,000 bee colonies and an estimated 33 billion bees.
We love bees. And honey. In that order.
Pollinators help produce about a third of the food we eat, and bees ask for very little in return: healthy flowers, clean land, and people who look out for them. That's why our mission starts with the bees, not the jar. Every honey we bottle, every beekeeper we partner with, and every program we fund begins with one question: is this good for the bees?
Founded by a Beekeeper.
The same Beekeeper who leads us today! Ted Dennard opened his first hive at 14, and he's been chasing extraordinary honey ever since. He taught beekeeping in the Peace Corps, came home to Georgia, and set out to elevate honey from a plastic-bear pantry staple to something truly savored. Today, more than 45 years later, Ted is still beekeeping and leads Savannah Bee. He still personally tastes the honeys. He still knows the beekeepers. And he still believes the bees are the best teachers we have.
"The honeybee is the ultimate teacher of collaboration." - Ted Dennard
Our Honey Isn't Like Everyone Else's.
Honey tastes like the flowers it comes from, so we go to the source. We travel to the hillsides of Spain and Portugal for lavender nectar. We look right in our own Southern backyard for Tupelo, one of the rarest and most prized honeys in the world. We seek out what's delicious, rare, and truly special, then bottle it with care so you taste the bloom, the season, and the place.
We Know the Beekeepers Behind Every Jar.
We don't buy honey off a list. We build lasting relationships with beekeepers around the world, people who care deeply for their bees and their land. Together, our honey supports more than 81,000 bee colonies and nearly 5 billion bees. Knowing our partners personally means we know the health of their bees and the ecosystems they forage in, and we can help when they need it. That's how we keep quality high and hives healthy.
When Bees Thrive, Everybody Wins.
Nearly 90% of the world's wild flowering plants depend on animal pollinators like bees, and here in the U.S., bees pollinate about one in every three bites of food we eat. Each year, pollinators help produce crops worth $235 billion to $577 billion*. Healthy bees mean healthy meadows, forests, and farms, and healthy farms mean food on our tables. That's why our business is built so that making great honey and protecting bees are the same work. Bees are cared for. Ecosystems thrive. People enjoy a healthier planet and the most delicious honey on earth. And we don't stop at donations: we roll up our sleeves, from classrooms to ranchlands. All in, our honey and The Bee Cause support an estimated 33 billion bees.
1.6 Million Kids and Counting.
We founded The Bee Cause Project, an educational nonprofit, to bring bees out of the textbook and into the classroom. Since 2014, with our support and that of other generous sponsors, The Bee Cause has delivered 2,769 grants, including 1,249 Bee Grants that place live observation hives in schools, nonprofits, and community organizations across all 50 U.S. states, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Haiti, and Guam. These hands-on experiences connect students directly to the ecosystems that support our food system and our planet. To date, The Bee Cause has reached more than 1.6 million children and supports an estimated 28 billion honeybees and native bees.

Healthy Land Makes Healthy Hives.
Bees can only thrive where the land does. We make a global impact by supporting beekeepers from the Bahamas to Brazil with equipment, training, and fair, long-term partnerships. Closer to home, we partner with beekeepers nationwide to promote sustainable beekeeping. We proudly fund innovative research and regenerative practices through ongoing support of Bee Regenerative. Protecting bees means protecting the whole ecosystem around them.
Sustainability Is in Our Nature.
Bees waste nothing, and we're working to do the same. We are committed to using responsible packaging solutions. From glass jars and 100% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) water bottles, we are set to divert 200-300,000 bottles annually from landfills. We also use recyclable wrap instead of bubble wrap, biodegradable spoons and cups in our retail locations, and recyclable shipping boxes. Balancing product integrity and sustainability is an ongoing journey. One we’re committed to every step of the way.
See Our Mission Come to Life at BeeTopia.
BeeTopia is the most immersive expression of our mission. More than a destination, it's a living classroom that celebrates and protects bees: a place to observe, ask questions, and learn from one another, where every guest becomes a citizen scientist. Take a guided bee tour, taste honeys from around the world, and explore a pollinator garden that shows how tired land can bloom again. Come curious. Leave buzzing.
Enjoy Our Honey. Support Bees. PROTECT THE PLANET.
When you choose Savannah Bee, you get honey worth savoring, and you become part of the work: healthier hives, thriving ecosystems, and kids who grow up loving bees. Exceptional honey, packed with purpose. Thank you for being part of it.
